Project Manager | Business Developer | Community Advocate

Hello,

I’m a project manager with background spanning retail, healthcare, and entrepreneurship.

I’m passionate about scaling new systems and optimizing teams to delivering the best product value.

Where I’ve Worked.

My Principles

The intersection of these three principles—adaptability, relentless pursuit of vision, and trust-driven leadership—is where I’ve found the most success and fulfillment as a business leader. This approach grounds the way I manage projects, build teams, and navigate uncertainty with clarity and intention.

New Market Store Launch – UNIQLO Florida Mall

General Manager | August 2018 — May 2020

How do you bring a global brand known for winter jackets and thermal layers into a market that barely knows your name—and rarely dips below 70 degrees? That was the challenge, and with my track record of operational excellence and team leadership, they asked me to lead the way.

As the first UNIQLO location targeting a local Southern customer base, this wasn’t just a store opening—it was a high-stakes market entry that required brand education, operational agility, and strategic risk management. Without a regional warehouse, we had to reimagine supply chain timing and inventory decisions. Without strong brand awareness, we had to win people over with world-class service, floor standards, and storytelling from day one. My role was to bring all of this to life—and set a precedent for future Southern expansion.

Milestones:

  • Opened the store one week ahead of schedule by applying a waterfall predictive life cycle approach to manage milestones, vendors, and pre-launch readiness with precision

  • Reached profitability within the first fiscal quarter through strategic inventory planning, efficient team workflows, and localized operational execution

  • Set a new hiring precedent in the U.S. market by achieving a 50% full-time staffing structure, enhancing team stability and long-term productivity

  • Built a high-performing 60+ person team by fostering an adaptable mindset and developing technical operational skills that supported both agility and excellence on the sales floor

  • Delivered greater customer value and improved market fit by tailoring global brand standards to local needs and pivoting mid-project in response to evolving stakeholder input and business strategy shifts

This experience showed me how much meaning I find in supporting others’ growth—I loved watching individuals step into new roles and realize their own potential. I also fell in love with the process of developing team mindsets that foster trust, adaptability, and purpose—shaping not just stronger operations, but a more empowered, connected workplace.

Digital Clienteling Initiative – UNIQLO SOHO Flagship (Project Management)

Project Manager | September 2021 — February 2022

How do you offer personalized clienteling in a fast-paced, fast-fashion retail environment? No one had the answer—so they asked me to build it from scratch. I led the creation of UNIQLO’s first-ever digital clienteling program, defining the project scope, end goals, and success metrics in an environment where speed and volume had always taken priority.

What started as a vague idea became a fully operational pilot: a scalable, data-backed system that merged our physical retail presence with digital tools to create deeper, smarter, and more human customer relationships. I didn’t just create a workflow—I built a blueprint for how clienteling could evolve in a digital-first, AI-driven retail future.

Milestones:

  • Scoped and launched UNIQLO’s first digital clienteling experience, defining project objectives, success metrics, and operational standards from the ground up

  • Designed integrated workflows that merged traditional service with CRM, digital tools, and behavioral data to deepen customer personalization and drive retention

  • Developed the business case and reporting cadence, delivering regular progress updates and impact data directly to the CEO and senior stakeholders

  • Authored the company’s first digital clienteling playbook, building a replicable framework for future rollout across U.S. stores

  • Led training and change management for the pilot team, embedding digital fluency and service excellence into our store culture

This project reminded me that innovation doesn’t always start with a roadmap—it starts with asking the right questions, staying curious, and building something meaningful from nothing. It deepened my passion for designing systems that elevate both people and technology, and taught me how to lead teams through ambiguity with clarity, purpose, and vision.

Department Transformation – Program Manager, Asian Health Services

Program Manager | July 2023 — present

What do you do when a COVID response team is suddenly asked to become a community service department—with new programs, new grants, and no roadmap? You start from scratch. I was brought in to lead this transition, tasked with redefining the team’s identity, building entirely new workflows, and guiding pandemic-era health workers into a future of long-term community engagement, advocacy, and education.

With no playbook in hand, I became a quick-study in grant writing, nonprofit compliance, and public health strategy—leveraging stakeholder expertise while crafting new internal systems that could scale. This role has been about more than operations—it’s been about unlocking purpose, rebuilding mindset, and anchoring the team in service of equity.

Milestones:

  • Led the department-wide transition from pandemic response to community advocacy, defining new objectives, team roles, and operational workflows

  • Managed six active grants totaling over $3M, ensuring timely execution of scope of work (SOW) deliverables, compliance with legal requirements, and strategic budget planning

  • Built a unified team charter and project planning system, clearly outlining responsibilities, timelines, and success metrics in accessible, collaborative formats

  • Developed culturally responsive workflows to ensure programs met the needs of Alameda County’s linguistically and ethnically diverse AAPI communities

  • Established cross-sector partnerships to support grant initiatives focused on vaccine access, digital equity, and culturally relevant health education

This role shifted my business mindset from efficiency alone to value with purpose. It gave me a deeper understanding of how systems impact real people—especially disaggregated and historically excluded communities. I now lead with a broader sense of mission: to build systems that not only work, but actively dismantle inequity and uplift those too often left behind.

Small Business Launch – Co-founder, Vui Ve Eatery

Co-Founder| January 2023 — present

When my mom’s incredible cooking met my operational skill set, I knew we had something special—but it wouldn’t come to life without structure, systems, and a clear vision. I built Vui Ve Eatery from the ground up as a passion project to honor her talent and give it a business foundation—applying my project management experience to navigate the unique challenges of launching a small food business from scratch.

From branding and licensing to workflow design and marketing, I managed every phase of development—creating a business that blended cultural authenticity with modern operational strategy. This wasn’t just about food; it was about creating something joyful, purposeful, and rooted in community.

Milestones:

  • Built and launched the business from concept to execution, overseeing project scope, operational timelines, and cross-functional planning (legal, culinary, brand, and logistics)

  • Navigated complex regulatory processes, including city and state permitting, food safety certifications, and delivery licensing

  • Developed a full brand identity, including visual design, mission/vision, and storytelling that centered Vietnamese comfort food as a bridge to joy and connection

  • Created scalable operations and workflows for menu prep, order fulfillment, and delivery logistics—achieving high accuracy and consistent quality

  • Grew the customer base by 40% through grassroots marketing, community events, and social media engagement

This experience helped me realize how my career and life experiences have equipped me to give back to the people who shaped me. Starting this family-owned business wasn’t just about operations or branding—it was about honoring my roots, taking a risk on our shared passion, and proving that with heart and the right tools, we could bring our ideas to life together.
